With a highly trained crew of eight, including a multilingual Class III naturalist guide, Reina Silvia, accommodates her guests in eight double cabins, furnished with oversized upper and lower beds, WC, shower, washbasin and vanity, and one king-bedded Owner's Suite.

The yacht is fully air-conditioned and features up-to-date security, navigational and communications equipment, including satellite telephone. From the well-equipped galley an excellent cuisine is offered in the spacious dining room.

This area and the forward salon are used for lectures and conferences. Drinks are served at the bar or on the large sun deck (under awning).

The yacht has a swimming/diving platform aft and an extended bow pulpit for whale and dolphin watching. A desalination plant provides all the freshwater needed. Dive charters, under the guidance of an experienced certified dive master, may be arranged. Reina Silvia is equipped with an electric compressor, cylinders and weights.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Quito, Ecuador

 

Fly from your home city to Quito, Ecuador. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the Hilton Colón Quito for an overnight.

Day 2

Quito, Equatorial Monument

 

We spend the day exploring colonial Quito known for its many churches, peaceful squares, fountains, balconied houses, steep narrow streets and secluded gardens. We also visit the Equatorial Monument where you can stand with one foot in each hemisphere. There will be time to do a bit of shopping before we meet for a welcome dinner. Overnight at Hilton Colón Quito. BLD B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner

Day 3

Fly to Galapagos, board our yacht

 

We have an early morning flight to the Galapagos Islands, where we embark on the Reina Silvia, our home for the next eight days We then head out into the Galapagos National Park for our in-depth exploration of the wonders of Darwin's Islands. BLD

Days 4-9

On the Boat—Snoozin', Cruisin' and Snorkelin'

 

We live aboard the yacht and spend as much time exploring the islands onshore visits as park rules permit. With the expertise of our licensed naturalist, we learn about the birds and animals, the geology, marine life and oceanic systems of the Galapagos. We swim and snorkel with a great variety of fishes, sea lions and sometimes even penguins! Each night our yacht travels on to the next island. Our itineraries vary by yacht, but almost all include both Española (Hood) and Tower. BLD

Day 10

Galapagos, Quito

 

We have our last Galapagos visit this morning, then anchor in the harbor near the airport. We say "adios" to our yacht and crew and head to our midday flight back to Quito. Once there we transfer to the Hilton Colón Quito for a farewell dinner and overnight. BLD

Day 11

Quito--home or elsewhere

 

Depart for home, or on to other adventures.
