Diving in Galapagos
Diving in the Galapagos Islands – one of the world’s premier diving destinations – has never been so easy. A few days spent exploring the enchanting underwater sites of the Galapagos is highly recommended for travelers – even for beginners! Programs are available from all dive skill levels, from beginner to experienced divers. For adventure-seeking travelers, diving in Galapagos is a memorable experience and a highlight of a Galapagos visit.
Darwin's Discovery Dive Triangle
This program is an introduction for first time divers or out-of-practice divers who want to ease into diving. Begin with an introduction to diving techniques and equipment before setting out to experience your first three dives! You’ll find out first hand why the Galapagos has been named one of the Seven Underwater Wonders of the World!
Your first dive is at Academy Bay, the calmest dive site in the Galapagos, with superb visibility and little current, ideal for students and novices. Your instructor will review breathing techniques and walk you through the diving basics. Once you’ve had a chance to get comfortable with the diving techniques learned in your introduction course, the next day you will have two more dives at North Seymour Island.

Darwin´s Land and Sea Adventure Tour
This program is ideal for certified divers interested in combining a land and diving tour. One of the few programs of its kind, this itinerary is packed with land activities on three of the most fascinating islands, along with up to six different dives at Santa Cruz and Floreana Island.

Darwin’s Triangle Undersea Adventure
This program is for the experienced diver who is looking to spend as much time possible diving at top Galapagos sites, but without the time or budget for a full week live aboard dive program. Travelers will have the opportunity to dive at Santa Cruz, Floreana and Isabela Islands, while staying at comfortable beachfront accommodations. The program offers up to ten dives, and also a few land activities.

North Seymour: Eagle Rays, Manta Rays, Hammerheads, White-Tipped Reef Sharks, Galapagos Shark, Stingrays, Marbled Rays, Tiger Snake Eels, Moray Eels, Garden Eels, Sea Stars, Sea Turtles, Jacks, Blue and Gold Snappers, Flag Cabrilla, Creolefish, King Angelfish, Barracuda, Hieroglyphic Hawkfish, Frogfish, Yellowtail Surgeonfish, Spotfin Burrfish, Scorpionfish, Cardinalfish, Nudibranchs and more.
Daphne Minor: Sea Turtles, Hammerheads, White-Tipped Reef Sharks, Galapagos Sharks, Silky Sharks, Golden Cowrays, Eagle Rays, Galapagos Grunts, Yellowtail Grunts, Creolefish, King Angelfish, Galapagos Ringtail Damselfish, Chamelion Wrasse, Rainbow Wrasse, Barracuda, Streamer Hogfish, Tuna, Parrotfish, Wrasse, Razor Surgeonfish, Panamic Graysby Cabrilla, Cardinalfish, Yellowtail Snapper, Nudibranchs, Octopus, Slipper Lobster and Black Coral.
In the afternoon, you will head off to Floreana to begin the second leg of the Darwin's Triangle. The following morning in Floreana you will dive Corona del Diablo, Enderby, and Champion.
Corona del Diablo: Blue and Gold Snappers, Yellowtail Snapper, Barberfish, Mexican Hogfish in various stages, Razor Surgeonfish, Panama Sergeant Major, Galapagos Grunts, Chocolate Chip Stars, Cushion Stars, Guineafowl Pufferfish, Spotfin Burrfish, Panamic horse conch, Sea Turtles, Eagle Rays and more.
Enderby: Eagle Rays, Stingrays, White-Tipped Reef Sharks, Galapagos Sharks, sometimes Hammerheads and Pilot Whales, Barracuda, Yellowtail Surgeonfish, Juvenile Grunts, Creolefish, Mexican Hogfish, Sea Cucumbers, Blue and Gold Snappers and more.
Champion: Sea lions galore, Sea Turtles, White-Tipped Reef Sharks, Yellowtail Surgeonfish, Longnosed Hawkfish, Sea Stars, Scorpionfish, Mexican hogfish in various growth stages, King Angelfish, Spinster Wrasse, Guineafowl Puffer in its bright yellow phase, Flag Cabrilla, Red Lipped Batfish, Barracuda, Black striped Salemas, Panamic horse conch, Green Morays, Pacific Seahorse, Blue Lobster, Octopus and more.
