Land based programs traditionally are based from Puerto Ayora, but the newly inaugurated Red Mangrove island-hopping program, Darwin’s Triangle, takes travelers not only to Galapagos highlights, but allows them to stay overnight at Red Mangrove eco-lodges on Santa Cruz, Isabela and Floreana Islands.
With exciting multisport activities like kayaking, snorkeling, horseback riding and plenty of hikes, this 6 day/5 night program is a unique way to explore the Enchanted Isles.
Red Mangrove Aventura Lodge is the first in a series of eco-lodges that span three of the inhabited Galapagos Islands. Original construction was in 1995, in the middle of a mangrove forest, giving the property privacy despite being just a five minute walk from the Charles Darwin Station and downtown restaurants. Overlooking the harbor, with marine iguanas, sea lions and various bird species visible from the deck on the water, the location is peaceful and beautiful.
The Aventura Lodge has sister lodges on Floreana and Isabela Islands, also, for those traveling between the three islands during their exciting Galapagos stay. Respect for the unique Galapagos environment and sustainable development are two standouts of the Red Mangrove program, with practices in place to conserve the fragile Galapagos environment.

There are 14 rooms, all with private bathrooms. Bed options include king, queen and twin, and there are three room categories – standard, superior and suite. There are four suites, all with scenic views to the ocean and bay. Three suites have private balconies, and one has a whirlpool. They are located on the second and third floors. The four superior rooms have ocean views; one has a private balcony on the upper level and the rest are on ground level. Six standard rooms have mangrove views; three are on the ground level and three on the upper level.
All rooms have cable TV, air conditioning, individual safe deposit boxes, CD player and alarm clock, and biodegradable bath products. All guests are welcomed with a cocktail and purified drinking water. The lodge is a five minute walk from downtown Puerto Ayora and the Charles Darwin Station. The lodge offers a bar, café, restaurant, Jacuzzi overlooking the water, laundry service, phone, fax and wireless internet.

There are eight oceanfront rooms, all with two queen beds. The lodge has a BBQ area and wooden porches for relaxing while watching the sea. The location is amazing, and the activities and flora and fauna on Isabela Island are impressive.

There are 10 independent cabins, each equipped with one full sized bed and a bunk bed; the cabins can fit up to four guests. Each cabin has its own bathroom, front porch, and reading/shade area. Rooms have ceiling fans, reading lamps, radios, hot water, nightstands and imported sheets. The lodge has a common area and dining room, and a grilling area. There is a snack bar and laundry service.
