Napo Wildlife Center
This eco-tourism project includes the conservation of approximately 52,000 acres of the most pristine Amazon Rain Forest within the Yasunì National Park, an important biosphere reserve and the largest tract of tropical rain forest in Ecuador. Located by Anangucocha Lake, in the unique ancestral territory of the Anangu Quichua Community, this lodge is ideal for those seeking a more intimate experience.
Napo is owned and operated by the Anangu Quichua Community, and provides jobs for the community and protects their ancestral land. Napo is the only Amazonian lodge located within Yasuni National Park, which is a UNESCO Bisophere Reserve and the largest tract of intact rainforest in Ecuador. Electricity is provided 24 hours a day by a combination of solar power and advanced diesel generators.
All activities are led by specialized Ecuadorian bilingual Naturalist Guides & Anangu Local Guides. Exclusive activities include two unique parrot & macaw clay licks, two self-standing canopy towers measuring 120 & 50 feet, and unrivaled access to learning more about local communities and culture. Guests also have access to two parrot and macaw clay licks. The region has abundant wildlife, including 565 bird species, 11 monkey species, a giant otter family, and other large mammals like the Brazilian tapir, white-lipped peccary, various cayman species, anacondas and many others.
Spend your time exploring the numerous trails with expert guides, try your hand at local activities, relax while bird watching from your bungalow and spot exotic wildlife from the canopy tower.
