THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!! The trip was outstanding; all the arrangements were perfect – from the time we were met at the airport in Quito – to the time we were returned to the airport in Guayaquil.

Sacha Lodge

Guests at Sacha Lodge’s 5000-acre private reserve have opportunities for plenty of activities while exploring the jungle. The adventure begins with a motorized canoe ride down the river, followed by an exciting first entrance into the reserve along a raised boardwalk through dense flooded palm forest. Monkeys and birds are often spotted on the journey to the lodge, providing a true Amazonian welcome.

Lodge activities include visiting the Yasuni Parrot Clay Lick where you can spot hundreds of brightly colored parrots from hidden blinds (additional US$ 25 for entrance into the Yasuni National Park); a thrilling walk through the the rainforest canopy along a 940-foot walkway built 94 feet above the ground; bird watching from the 135-foot Kapok Tower; visiting the Butterfly House where you’ll learn about the different varieties of butterfly and learn about raising the delicate insects. Other activities include daytime and nighttime jungle walks to spot birds & wildlife, fishing for piranha in the lake, and visiting local communities.

Lodge Facilities

The lodge offers 26 thatched cabins, which can be either single, double or triple – perfect for families. All cabins have private shaded terraces, are constructed with traditional materials, and nestle in the jungle surroundings. All cabins have private bathrooms with hot water & flushing toilet; all are screened against insects, and have ceiling fans. It’s not uncommon to spot toucans & monkeys while relaxing in the hammock on your cabin’s terrace.
