Island-Hopping Adventures

Land based programs traditionally are based from Puerto Ayora, but these exciting island-hopping programs take travelers to Galapagos highlights on Santa Cruz, Floreana & Isabela Islands. Guests stay overnight in eco-lodges on each of the islands, and have a mixture of activities like hiking, snorkeling, seeing the unique Galapagos wildlife, and learning about the archipelago’s unique culture & human history.

Aventura Lodge – Santa Cruz Island

There are 14 rooms, all with private bathrooms. Bed options include king, queen and twin, and there are three room categories – mangrove view, superior ocean view and suite. The four suites enjoy scenic views to the ocean and bay. Three suites have private balconies, and one has a whirlpool. They are located on the second and third floors. The four superior rooms have ocean views; one has a private balcony on the upper level and the rest are on ground level. Six standard rooms have mangrove views; three are on the ground level and three on the upper level.

All rooms have cable TV, air conditioning, individual safe deposit boxes, CD player and alarm clock, and biodegradable bath products. All guests are welcomed with a cocktail and purified drinking water. The lodge is a five minute walk from downtown Puerto Ayora and the Charles Darwin Station. The lodge offers a bar, café, restaurant, Jacuzzi overlooking the water, laundry service, phone, fax and wireless internet.

Isabela Lodge Galapagos Hotel

There are eight oceanfront rooms, all with two queen beds. The lodge has a BBQ area and wooden porches for relaxing while watching the sea. The location is amazing, and the activities and flora and fauna on Isabela Island are impressive.


Floreana Lodge Galapagos Hotel

There are 10 independent cabins, each equipped with one full sized bed and a bunk bed; the cabins can fit up to four guests. Each cabin has its own bathroom, front porch, and reading/shade area. Rooms have ceiling fans, reading lamps, radios, hot water, nightstands and imported sheets. The lodge has a common area and dining room, and a grilling area. There is a snack bar and laundry service.


6 day/5 night Darwin’s Triangle Adventure

An adventurous Galapagos excursion based on Santa Cruz Island, Floreana and Isabela Islands.

Days Activities
Day 1 Arrival to Baltra Airport, and transfer to Aventura Lodge on Santa Cruz Island. After enjoying lunch at the lodge, explore Garrapatero Beach. One of the most beautiful beaches in the islands, Garrapatero is an excellent introduction to the Galapagos. You’ll have the chance to see wildlife like flamingos, Darwin’s finches, penguins, and various shorebirds. Enjoy snorkeling off the white sand beach. Overnight at Aventura Lodge – Santa Cruz Island.
Day 2 This morning explore the lush highlands of Santa Cruz Island. You’ll have the chance to see giant tortoises in the wild, explore a huge lava tunnel, and visit to giant sunken craters. After lunch, you’ll have a boat ride to Floreana Island. This afternoon snorkel with sea lions, and enjoy a relaxing evening on this island, the earliest inhabited by humans, and with a very small population of permanent residents. Dinner will be with a local family, allowing travelers to learn more about local culture in the islands. Overnight at Floreana Lodge – Floreana Island.
Day 3 Today visit the highlands of Floreana Island, where you’ll learn about the island’s human history, visit a pirate’s cave, and see some giant tortoises. This afternoon you’ll sail to Isabela Island. This afternoon you’ll have an exciting visit to see Galapagos penguins and white-tipped reef sharks. This evening relax at your hotel, located right on the beach. Overnight at Isabela Lodge – Isabela Island.
Day 4 Start early this morning with a full day visit to Sierra Negra Volcano, which has the second largest volcanic caldera in the world. The more adventurous will have the chance to hike over lava rocks to Chico Volcano, which is still active, and where you can feel the heat from fumaroles through the ground at times. Lunch will be at an organic farm in the highlands. The afternoon will be at your leisure to enjoy snorkeling or relaxing on the beach. Overnight at Isabela Lodge – Isabela Island.
Day 5 This morning visit the Wetlands of Isabela Island, enjoy panoramic views from the top of Orchilla Hill, and then visit the Wall of Tears. This was built by the labor of prisoners when Isabela Island was a penal colony in the 1950s. This afternoon set sail for Santa Cruz Island, where you’ll visit the Charles Darwin Research Station and learn about conservation efforts in the islands. You’ll also see Lonesome George, the last surviving tortoise of his species. Overnight at Aventura Lodge – Santa Cruz Island.
Day 6 Transfer to the airport this morning for your flight to the mainland.

Day 4 Today visit the highlands of Floreana Island, where you’ll learn about the island’s human history, visit a pirate’s cave, and see some giant tortoises.
